The Fireflys

The Fireflys are a 3 piece alternative rock band which formed in Runcorn, Cheshire in 2007, based on the songwriting of singer/guitarist Lee Wylding the band includes: Bassist Stephen Roberts & Drummer Andie Packer, marking the beginning of a new generation of guitar bands, they have a new album due out on the 5th August entitled 'Embers Of The Autumn' which branches out from the big rock sound of the band's debut.

They are so emotionally charged they are extremley passionate about their work & are indebted to the british invasion, crafting ringing melodic 4 minute guitar songs featuring great vocals & harmonies, constantly changing genre sensibilities i love it when bands get experimental this really shows their strengths & that they enjoy showing different sides to their sound & style they keep it exciting & entertaining they keep you longing for more pure genius.
Driven purely by the DIY approach of punk although not a punk band, the manifest of independent loyalty looms very large in the execution of the band's music & ethos, their influnces range from the likes of The Who, Joy Division, The Beatles, The Cure, R.E.M & Pearl Jam.
The Firefly's are seen by their fans as something to cling to in times of bleak despair & alienation & it's this in lee's lyrics that resonates with the dislocated souls that have never truly found their place in this world.

Their last album 'Cathedral For Your Ashes' recently reached No.22 in the Amazon Download Rock Chart, beating the success of their debut album 'Better To Burn Out' which reached No.27 in December 2010 & stayed in the Radio Caroline album chart for 12 weeks, reaching No.17, 'Cathedral For Your Ashes' & 'Better To Burn Out' are available now on itunes & Amazon.
